There Is No Hope In Trying Hard

Great example of what the good news is not from Joshua Harris:

If we look at how we live, do we exhibit an understanding of the gospel, resting in Christ’s righteousness and trusting the Spirit to enable our obedience, or are we just trying hard?

Those are very good questions, and they do imply good news! The trouble is, I often choose what is bad news (trying hard). God, let the Good News sink in and have its full and lasting impact on us!

That’s great! I hope he stopped there.

So often, they will hand over he gospel with one hand, and then in the rest of the message, they will take it back.

I hope he just walked off the stage after that.
