God’s Love Compels Us: a free #TGC13 eBook

On April 6-7, 2013, The Gospel Coalition held their 2013 World Missions pre-conference, “God’s Love Compels Us.” With permission from the kind folks at TGC, I’ve put together my notes from the conference into a free eBook (.pdf format), which is now available for download.

Here’s what’s included:

  1. Don Carson: The Biblical Basis for Missions
  2. Andy Davis: Are People Without Christ Really Lost?
  3. David Platt: Why the Great Commission is Great
  4. John Piper: The heart of God in the call to proclaim
  5. Michael Oh: the individual’s suffering & the salvation of the world
  6. Stephen Um: Jesus and Justice
  7. Mack Stiles: The Ministry of Reconciliation

The conference was a tremendous blessing to attend and I trust you’ll be both encouraged and challenged by the messages included in the book. Enjoy!

TGC2013 was visited by thousands of leaders and pastors in churches who after the conference again will shepherd thousands of churchpeople. The ones who teach these leaders and pastors are not able to produce more than this e-book ? It must be out of respect of persons and idolatry of men like Keller, Carson, Platt, Lorritz and the other speakers that those who say they have a calling accept this minimalistic spiritual diet as food for the soul of Christians. After listening 5 days to this conference I completely missed Christ in the messages, I heard highly educated men who because of respect of their persons and titles are high amongst a crowd of leaders who are no salting salt. Or one must call living for the world under a cloak of godliness a fruit belonging to those whom Christ has called. The world also knows this superficiality, this kind of love for men and bears also these good works and outward behaviour. I found the performance of the panel lead by Kevin the Young a fine example of this hypocrisy. Talking as 18 years old, joking around and making statements that clearly showed they might know a lot about what gives them advantage, but the true Gospel of Christ is far far away form them otherwise they would not have behaved so flippantly about holy things having no fear of God before their eyes. TGC 2013 is the world under a cloak of godliness.

We must have been listening to different conferences.

‘With false church I mean for example the 2013 conference of The Gospel Coalition
where one amidst the sermons and workshops can go golfing, shopping, dining and
enjoying a very simple hotel where the conference is held. Look for example at
the subject matter of the sermons and the workshops and ask yourself if you
yourself cannot make that up yourself after so much years of churchgoing ?’ This is the conference I have seen, were you at another ? It was very surprising to hear John Piper say in this day and age of apostacy and ecumenism towards Rome that he has enough money in his bankaccount so he does not have to work anymore (with 46 million poor in the USA and many more lost souls at this moment) and to hear him say that it could be it might take 5000 years before Revelation comes to fulfilment. It seems his god has wiped away the 1260 years in the book of Revelation and added 3720 more. Have you seen Passion 2013 where the face of John Piper is projected on large screens before an audience of 60.000 youth ? If that is not idolatry of man, what is ?

  • waldens

sorry, 3720 should be 3740. Or it might be that John has another bright idea to misinterpret Scripture so that life on earth can continue smoothly for the next 15 years.
John seems to have forgotten in his interview ‘Lord Willing’ in 19 of his 20 clear remarks about how John thinks his future will be. BTW my neighbour can also act so humbly as John Piper did in his interview only he did not stand on platforms for years in conference for thousands of people. Where is the revival, Mr. Piper ? It seems Passion 2013 shows your audience loves idolatry of man and apostacy.

Dont know what is up with this waldens guy but I was at a TGC conference where all that extra “time” was spent having awesome conversations about the messages and looking over notes like the ones in this ebook.
Thanks so much Aaron! So helpful and practical. Will you be putting the notes from the Luke conference into a similar format?

    • http://www.bloggingtheologically.com Aaron Armstrong

Yeah, I’m not sure where he was coming from on that. I hadn’t planned on putting together the notes for the Luke conference mainly because I wasn’t at the final session with Keller (had to head to the airport). Wasn’t sure if an incomplete note guide would be worthwhile.

    Its No Secret

Its No Secret. It’s No Secret that God’s Law
of Attraction operates on and above the physical plane. James Patrick
Watson credits the Law of Attraction to God and reveals this using verses in
the Bible. It is about expressing gratitude for blessings, the direct result of
understanding and using this most important of God’s Laws. Watson saw the
possibility of this book when he read Rhonda Byrne’s “The Secret”–it revealed
the need to make Christians realize that the Law of Attraction is in the Bible
itself and that God expects every Christian to appreciate and use it.
