Every so often, I like to share a few quick random updates to keep you all in the loop on what’s happening in the world of the Armstrong family, both from a personal and professional perspective. The last time I did one was almost six months ago, so it felt like it was time to give another glimpse into what’s been going on in our world.
Church + relationships: God has been very kind to us over the last several months. We’ve started to feel settled in at the church we’re attending (which is a very good thing), and are building some solid relationships there, as well as with other folks in our broader community. Where we were feeling very lonely in July, we’re definitely starting to feel like we belong in our community here.
Seeing family: God was kind in another way as well. Thanks to all my travel and the receipt of a couple of vouchers, we’re flying my mother down to Nashville to visit with us in January. This is pretty exciting as she’s not really taken any time away from her bakery in 10 years, and it’ll be the first time we’ve seen her since we moved in July 2016.
Legal stuff: The immigration law firm we’ve been working with since we began our journey to come to America is getting ready to file paperwork to renew my current visa. Lord willing, that will be taken care of quickly.
The soon to be announced project: I’ve started seeing some edits come into my inbox on the soon-to-be-announced project. My editor is kinder than I deserve.
Reading Writers podcast: My new cohost and I are getting ready to start recording our first episodes together shortly. Look for a sudden explosion of Reader Writers episodes—and the reveal of who my cohost is—soon!
The new podcast: On Thursday morning, Brian Dembowczyk and I recorded the first episodes of a brand new podcast we’re launching in February as part of our roles with The Gospel Project. It was great fun. Looking forward to making the official announcement soon!
